F.A.Q

I received some questions concerning my new idea. I think you might have similar questions so I will like to show you the questions and my answers. But before I answer the questions, I want to explain one more time about my future idea and intention.

First of all, please understand that I’m doing this for your protection. It’s not easy because every country has a different situation and many countries, especially in South America have financial problems.

Y. Yamada

1) What would happen to the SANSUIKAI Name?

Answer: The name of Sansuikai will remain the same. Nothing will change.

2) How are we going to call ourselves as a member of USAF in Latin America?

Answer: You don’t have to call yourself especially a member of USAF  because Sansuikai members are automatically members of USAF from now on. For example, NY Aikikai members are also members of USAF.

I just want the entire world to know that Sansuikai International is, as a big group, a member of USAF.

3) There will be representatives of Latin America in the USAF meetings to represent the region?

Answer: No, maybe in the future, but right now I am the representative.

4) There will be USAF meetings in Latin America?

Answer: No. There will still be Sansuikai meetings.

5) The Certificates of Affiliation of SANSUIKAI, shall we change by one of USAF? And how much may this cost?

Answer: Sansuikai member dojo certificate remains as it is. HQ of Sansuikai International, which is my office will have USAF membership certificates.

6) What would happen to the groups I’m monitor and support in Haiti and Panama? Will they affiliate as USAF or remain dependent on me?

Answer: Each small dojo is still under your dojo until they become big enough to be independent.

7) Shidoin and Fuku Shidoin certificates of SANSUIKAI you offered, must pass as USAF certificates?  How much will that cost? And what would be the process?

Answer: Shidoin / Fuku Shidoin certificates will still be issued by and as Sansuikai. There will be NO money involved for Sansuikai to become a member of USAF.

Let me repeat. NOTHING WILL CHANGE.

8 ) Is Sansuikai International registered under the governmental offices in USA that correspond, such as maybe Commercial offices, boards or similar?

USAF has no connection to the Government, thanks a god. You have no obligation or duty to the US Government.

9) If this is so (the registration from question 1), in what year it was registered?

No Answer

10) Did the USAF modify the statute in order to give support to the countries in Latin America and Europe?

USAF offers you mainly instruction support. If you need, we can give you advise for administration matters.

11) Have there been any attempts to affiliate to Japan, by countries, the organizations members of Sansuikai.

Good question and it also gives me a big headache. Please understanding the followings.

First of all, Sansuikai and Birankai are the names of my and Chiba sensei’s personal groups and followers. Both I and Chba sensei’s concern is your security in Aikikai activities, a pipe line to Aikikai in Japan after we are gone, which unfortunately will happen sooner or later. Aikikai does not recognize continental federations. I don’t know why.

Forming a Sansuikai federation in each country and got a recognition country by country is an ideal solution and also my dream but as of now, it’s impossible. Many countries have still conflicts among the each group.

I just met Chiba sensei and we talked a lot about this subject. He told me that he formed Birankai federation in one country and asked Aikikai for a recognition and got it. Then after they got it, there are many more fights for power among the groups, which Chiba sensei did not want to see and did not expected. He regrets what has happened. I don’t want to see that ugly flights among my followers.

12) Has Aikikai rejected the application to affiliate in particular Sansuikai Brazil? If so, what are the reasons of Aikikai to refuse it?

No need to be answered.

I didn’t apply for it because of the reason I explained previously.

13) The decision is final or they will be new attempts of affiliation of Sansuikai Brazil to Aikikai?

Maybe in the future but not now.

14) The titles Fukushidoin, Shidoin e Shihan, will be issued by the USAF? Say for instance, an instructor will receive the title of Shihan of the USAF itself, even not being an USA resident?

You can get Shidoin / Fuku Shidoin titles from USAF by a request if you want, but it will cost you money. Sansuikai still issues the titles if you wish. Shihan title will be applied to Japan through USAF as USAF shihan. No need to be an US resident.

Let me repeat again.

USAF members in USA have to pay a lot of money such as individual yearly membership fee. I don’t want you to pay extra money being USAF members. This is my whole idea. I, as a head of Sansuikai International becomes a member of USAF and I will pay any money to USAF for Sansuikai as a big group. Dan registrations still go through me, not through USAF to Aikikai, so it costs less money for you.

15) What is the authonomy of Sansuikai to organize seminars? For instance, Osawa Sensei visits de US since many years ago already, so, will Sansuikai have the same autonomy to organize seminars with Osawa Sensei or any other Hombu instructor, in any Sansuikai country?

You can organize any seminars if you wish and you can invite any instructors you wish, but you must ask me first.

16) The Sansuikai members are allowed only to organize seminars with USAF instructors?

Ideally, yes, but there are always exceptions. Just ask me.

17) Is there going to be continuity on the issue of Sansuikai mudansha books?

I need time to study more. It’s a big issue.
